What is a case assessment?

One of the most common questions we are asked is: “Do I have a good case?” It is human nature to want to know if the odds are stacked for or against you.

Our goal at Marjon Law is to ensure that our clients receive the best employment law advice and representation.

Sometimes we must tell clients they don’t have a strong case. Although this can be frustrating, it is hugely beneficial to know this quickly, which can avoid lots of further time, energy and money being invested in a lost cause.

When advising new clients, we will assess the situation and identify the legal issues, making sure you understand your position and how to make it work in your favour.

A case assessment is an ideal starting point if you:

  • have been badly treated at work
  • want to know if you have a case, and where you stand legally
  • want advice on what you can do to fix your employment law issue.

We will:

  • confirm if you have a case and the potential claims you may have
  • explain the potential value of the case
  • explain what you can do, including the key steps to obtain financial compensation.

How is the case assessment caried out?

We will review your documents (maximum 50 pages) which will take about 1 hour and then speak to you by phone, which will last for up to 1 hour.

Common documents include your grievance letter, disciplinary letters, employment contract, emails, and a timeline of events.

The case assessment is carried out by an experienced qualified solicitor or qualified barrister from Marjon Law and not by a paralegal or a trainee solicitor. Marjon Law is a regulated business and not an online platform.

What is the cost for a case assessment?

We charge a fixed fee for a case assessment, which will be less than if the fee earner was to charge by the hour to carry out the assessment.

Please contact us today, for a fixed fee quote.
